You already KNOW I finished filming this week and my cats helped out. I on Thursday morning, bright and early, filming the “colorful collage” scene which features my art from my childhood and collage sketchbooks. I changed up the scene from my original idea, to make it short and sweet. The orignial idea seemed too drawn out once the rest of the film was actually filmed rather than animated. I was able (at least in my opinion) to get the point across by just showcasing 3-4 sketches on each color, which I made sure to pair compliemntary colors because I am a true ARTIST and DESIGNER.
Short and sweet. There is room for changes to be made here, since I still have all of the assets in tack (which is not the case for future collages referenced). Therefore, I am accepting feedback on this portion during my demo and will likely change the tempo or imagery of this scene if my demo audience does not resonate with its current state.
On that note, in perparation for tomorrow’s live demo I am getting nervous to recieve feedback that I will not be able to implement. The person I have invited, Mason, is a fellow creative who’s opinion I value. I know he will be honest about what he likes, and doesn not like, about my project. BUT, there are aspects of the film that I cannot quickly change because I cannot just go in an manipulate the photos, I would have to retake the photos (which would be so time consuming and complicated). PRAY FOR ME.
The final scene I filmed is the destruction of the perfection collage. I was getting ready to rip and sew the collage, but then I just felt so blah about the idea. I felt so uninspired by it, and didn’t feel like it was meaningful enough to put that much effort into. So I made an impulsive decision and ripped it all up, and honestly, this was my TRUTH. I destroyed the collage in the purest form of destruction and had fun with it (so did my cats who LOVE ripping up paper). I am a little tiny bit dissapointed with how some of the footage came out (it is a little jumpy) BUT I really cannot redo this part so I am just going to accept it for it’s inperfection and count that as intentional because it resonates with my message.
Now that all the filming is done, I just have to show my peers and consider their feedback before turning it in and displaying it on my portfolio. I am excited to show my mom and sister, who helped me come up with the idea. I am also excited to show my boss, who is insanely creative and passionate about art. I am also very excited to show you (JOHN) and Mason tomorrow during my demo, although I am nervous…
