Reflect on your project proposal, and think about how you think it should be refined before kicking off the next phase of work. What still resonates for you? What needs some changes? What questions need answering before you can begin to build?
Over break I did not physically work on my project but I did think about it a lot, specifically about the story and certain technical aspects. Although I do have a storyboard that I would like to model my animation after, I decided that it is important to keep the possibilities of this animation super open ended. I want to allow myself to fully dive into my creativity and allow my project to take on a life of it’s own. Therefore, I will start creating my project as modeled off my story board, but if things naturally stray in the process, I am not going to try to correct, rather I will embrace the change.
I want to keep the vibe of my animation “sketchy” and “messy” (the opposite of “perfect”). As a recovering perfectionist, it is hard for me to let go of control like this, but it is what is best for the aesthetic of the project, as well as my personal growth.
Some technical question still need to be answered before plunging into creation. I need to figure out how to print on tissue paper.
Here is a resource I found about printing on toilet paper:
And another one on printing on tissue paper:
Given these two resources and many more on the internet, I don’t anticipate this being as hard as I originally assumed it would be.
On this Wednesday, I am going to hit the ground running with getting my project started. Here is a link to my brain dump todo list for the day:
But to summarize, I need to buy supplies for scene 1, cut out letters for scene 1, and design a collage for scene 2. Then before Monday I need to photograph scene 1, leaving me time to edit scene 1 in class and start planning for scene 2.
My schedule has all of these landmarks written out so I can check them off and stay accountable.
